Linda McEwen is a long-time resident of Tampa. Originally from South Carolina, her early Tampa background was as a 6th grade school teacher in Hillsborough County's gifted student program. She earned her B.S. degree from the University of New York and a Master's degree from the University of Tampa. Afterwards she founded a successful travel agency, McEwen International Travel. Here Linda successfully grew to three offices and a staff of 40. Her agency served both corporate accounts and leisure travelers, then later branched into importing and marketing African handicrafts. She was also involved with the production of travel videos from many destinations, especially in the African nations of Kenya, Tanzania, Botswana, and Congo (Zaire) for local TV. Linda planned special trips of all kinds that included doctor's volunteer groups in Tanzania, trade mission groups, and safari groups, etc. Her video company also produced commercial films and a fishing show. Until his death in 2011, Linda was married to Tom McEwen, award winning and popular Sports Editor of the Tampa Tribune. Tom was very influential and instrumental for helping to bring professional sports teams and sports events to Tampa. Linda worked alongside her husband entertaining prominent sports and business leaders, professional sports team owners, coaches, and athletes, and many other types of business people. They worked hard to promote the area to all these professions and professionals to highlight the best Tampa Bay has to offer. Over the years, Linda has retained a very long list of friends and business contacts in Tampa and from her many travels all over the world. Having traveled so extensively, Linda has taken a special interest in the international market for real estate and the possibilities it offers for Tampa's sellers and buyers. She has recently earned the prestigious Certified International Property Specialist designation from the National Association of Realtors. Linda has a gift for bringing people together and making them feel at home doing business in the Tampa Bay area.
