Born and raised in St. Petersburg, FL, Joe commenced his work experience at the age of 19 with Allstate Insurance Company, where he acquired a knack for customer service. After two years with Allstate, he decided to pursue his childhood dream of becoming a law enforcement officer. Graduating from the police academy in 2001, Joe received an award for being the “most organized” graduate. For the last 15 years, Joe has served honorably as a law enforcement officer serving in assignments as a Detective in Criminal Investigations, a Field Training Officer, up to and including supervisory duties as a Corporal. He spent time on the Honor Guard, representing the agency at the opening of Tampa Bay Rays games and served as a support member of the agency SWAT team. Notable accomplishments include FBI investigative commendations for his investigative contribution, development of numerous training programs designed to improve the efficiency and success of the police department and their officers, and mentoring/training new police officers who have proudly achieved departmental success. Additionally, it was Joe’s participation in a joint Federal grant program between Stetson Law College and the Federal Administration on Aging that led to the successful inclusion of law enforcement investigators with victim advocates and victims of elder abuse. Joe was also honored as a guest speaker for his leadership in a local fundraising event for Special Olympics and mentoring children at local schools. He was involved in the planning and implementation of the Youth Outreach Project which connects and fosters a positive interaction with police officers and youth in after-school programs. Joe graduated from St. Leo University in 2007 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice. He also has completed graduate-level coursework in International Relations at Troy University. Joe is proud to be married to Adisa, who grew up in Germany. Joe maintains a very international lifestyle, with a passion for traveling with his family all over Europe visiting family and exploring other cultures.
